Accelerating Dynamics 365 ERP feature delivery at Mattress Firm

Type text hereOne of the partners that has teamed up with Leapwork to deliver test automation to its customers is Illumina Technology Solutions, a Portland, Oregon-based digital transformation consultancy. Illumina’s client Mattress Firm, America’s largest specialty mattress retailer with approximately 2,400 stores across the United States, is a long-time user of the Dynamics 365 enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The retail company has deployed Dynamics 365 finance and supply chain solutions across the organization to help streamline operations and transform its customers’ shopping experience.

As a cloud-based solution, Dynamics 365 delivers regular feature updates, which is great for driving additional functionality and value. But with the comprehensive deployment of Dynamics 365 at Mattress Firm, which includes everything from point of sale to supply chain and procurement to warehouse management, adequately testing new capabilities end-to-end was a complex process. This complexity extended test cycles to a point where the number of capabilities that could be rolled out in any new release was limited.

To address this challenge, Illumina introduced Mattress Firm to Leapwork. “After implementing the Leapwork solution, Mattress Firm saw an 80 to 90 percent reduction in regression testing times,” said Andrew Alpert, Senior Vice President of Solutions and Services at Illumina. “Leapwork also allowed us to introduce more capabilities into each release because time savings enabled the client to focus more on features than testing. In the latest release we were able to include 55 product enhancements, which represents a 175 percent increase.”

Growing opportunity for partner-to-partner success

Illumina is just one of a growing number of Microsoft partners that Leapwork is teaming up with to support customers’ need for more automated testing. “We went from working with just two partners at the beginning of 2023 to more than twenty by the end of the year,” said von Schreiber. “One of the key reasons that we are seeing increased partner engagement is because we can ramp up new team members very quickly using our visual language approach to testing. You can take someone who is a QA specialist and turn them into an automation engineer that is actively creating automation scripts in a matter of weeks.”
