We’re excited to announce the addition of OpenAI’s GPT-5.3 Instant is now available in Microsoft 365 Copilot and in Microsoft Copilot Studio under GPT-5.3 Chat for model makers. This update improves how Copilot responds in everyday work scenarios with more reliably accurate answers, stronger and more adaptable writing, and more direct, useful responses.

For questions that draw on information from the web, Copilot now delivers clearer, more relevant responses by better synthesizing what it finds online with its own knowledge and reasoning—so answers are less shaped by retrieved content alone and more closely reflect the needs of the task.

This update reinforces our commitment to deliver the most advanced models quickly and responsibly—while maintaining enterprise-grade security, privacy, and compliance. There are no changes to how Microsoft processes, stores, or protects customer data.

What's new with GPT-5.3 Instant?

More direct and useful responses: Copilot is now better able to provide a helpful response when appropriate, rather than defaulting to disclaimers or declining to proceed despite having sufficient context.
Improved synthesis of web information: When drawing on information from the web, Copilot more effectively balances retrieved content with its own knowledge and reasoning—so responses are less shaped by results alone and more closely reflect the needs of the task.
More reliably accurate responses: GPT-5.3 Instant improves factual reliability in everyday conversations across drafting, summarization, and research tasks.
Stronger and more adaptable writing: Copilot produces clearer, more expressive output to support drafting, refinement, and ideation across common work scenarios.

Availability

GPT-5.3 Instant is rolling out starting today for Microsoft 365 Copilot users with priority access and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat users with standard access across the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Edge (web, Windows, macOS, and soon mobile)

GPT-5.3 Instant (Quick response) will be available for users to try under more in the model selector alongside GPT-5.2 Quick response and GPT-5.2 Think deeper.

Starting today, Copilot Studio will allow makers building agents in Early release cycle Power Platform environments to select GPT-5.3 Instant model at the agent level and AI Tools.

GPT-5.3 Chat model will replace GPT-5.2 Chat model, including in active agents that are currently using GPT-5.2 Chat model.
